This year's camp theme is "Move to Improve!".

Looking back after 5 years there is much to be proud of. After another great camp in 2011, it is time to move forward.

I feel very strongly that the changes I am making will allow me to continue to deliver on the promises I made 5 years ago. More importantly, we can now go places I alone could not take you.

Without further ado, I am extremely pleased with the following 'Moves to improve!':

Leadership...the Full-Time camp staff has grown from one to four. Mike Greenstein, Mike Rapp and Gordon Torigoe will become full-time camp staff!
Venue...we loved Pt. Loma Nazarene, however UCSD offers a unique combination of outstanding location, outstanding courts, and great competitive basketball environment.

Over the previous five summers, comments and feedback from campers and camp staff indicate we are delivering on the goals set out during our first summer:

to prepare you for your opportunity
to give you new information in a friendly learning environment
to deliver great quality at a GREAT VALUE

The bottom line is SDRising is not only preparing officials, we are also giving officials an opportunity to elevate their career path.

Delivering the goods could never have been done without many wonderful friends and knowledgeable officials giving back to the game. I am extremely proud of the talented friends in officiating who come together each year to provide you the opportunity to:

learn through discussing and using the 3-person officiating system
receive feedback and discuss the finer points of officiating with knowledgeable and respected camp staff
receive information on breaking down video
practice breaking down game video
prepare yourself for progression to the next level of officiating
put yourself on the radar while having fun and making new friendships

To provide you with game feedback and insight, I have gone with people I trust and people YOU want to be seen by. I will be posting our 2012 roster of observers and guests in the near future.

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to help you in your preparation. We are going to have us some fun so I hope you decide to join us!
